The creators and founders of The Global Gift Gala and Global Gift Foundation, Maria Bravo and Alina Peralta, announced their second year after a hugely successful first edition in Dubai. This year, Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) and Dubai Cares for the first time will be presenting The Global Gift Gala, a unique international fundraising initiative in support of Dubai Cares, the Eva Longoria Foundation, Sunrise K’ Foundation and the Global Gift Foundation in association with the avant-garde Marina Home Interiors who joined hands as the exclusive Platinum sponsor of this grand event.
The event will take place in Dubai on December 14, 2014 at WHITE Dubai and will be chaired by actress, activist and philanthropist Eva Longoria as Honorary Chair. Proceeds from the exclusive gala evening will go to the UAE based philanthropic organization Dubai Cares and The Global Gift Foundation, Eva Longoria Foundation and Sunrise K’ Foundation as charity beneficiaries in support of their humanitarian efforts worldwide, with the greatest support of our banking partner, Mashreq Private Banking.
For the fourth consecutive year collaborating with DIFF, Dubai Cares will be joining forces with The Global Gift Gala at this year’s event. The local philanthropic organization is working towards improving children’s’ access to quality primary education in developing countries. Through the support of the UAE community, Dubai Cares is reaching over 10 million children in 35 developing countries.
The Global Gift Gala is a platform part of the Global Gift Foundation, a non-profit organization established in 2013 by Maria Bravo and Alina Peralta focusing on creating a positive impact on the lives of children, women and families. The Foundation has donated hundred thousands of dollars to projects including ‘Fight for Life’ Radiotherapy Treatments for children at Hospital UCLH, Association Grégory Lemarchal in Paris and Asocaćion Ser Humanoin Spain amongst others.
Last year, the Global Gift Gala funds raised were used to change the lives of hundreds of women, children and families over a broad range of projects helping causes such as cancer treatment for children, emergency aid to the Philippines, life-changing operations for disabled children in European Countries, microloans for women in need of help and many more.
In addition, The Global Gift Gala is also supporting The Eva Longoria Foundation and Sunrise K’ Foundation. The Eva Longoria Foundation aims to improve education and provide entrepreneurial opportunities for young Latino women and to support children with special needs. Sunrise K’ Foundation aims to raise awareness of Glaucoma specifically in children and works towards implementing mandatory eye check ups for newborns worldwide, as well as raising funds for the Moorfields Eye Hospital in London to aid in research for a cure.
Kaskada Management, the Event Management Agency representing and co-organizing the Global Gift Gala in Dubai with MandA events, is planning a red carpet event with a cocktail reception, dinner, live auction including a number of prestigious
prizes including a sculpture by Lorenzo Quinn followed by an award ceremony and live entertainment with a special performance to be revealed at a later stage.
Last year, the Global Gift Gala in Dubai was a huge success raising over 250,000 USD during the live auction. Eva, the Honorary Chair was joined by humanitarian and Grammy Award winner Ricky Martin, who received the Global Gift Humanitarian Award for his work with the Ricky Martin Foundation. Other stars who came to launch the first event in Dubai, included rapper 50 Cent, singer-song writer Maxwell, Lebanese singer and actress Haifa Wehbeas well as Metin Senturk, the Turkish singer holding the Guinness Blind World Land Speed Record. Other international celebrity Global Gifters include Nicole Scherzinger, Jane Fonda, Victoria Beckham, Will.i.am, Mariah Carey and Melanie Griffith to name a few.
Since 2013, over 3.2 million has been raised at The Global Gift Galas in London, Paris, Cannes, Marbella and Mexico City with more events coming up and new cities added to the list including Los Angeles, Miami, Istanbul and Moscow.
