November , 2017, Dubai UAE: Close on the heels of Dubai Fitness Challenge 30 x 30, Al Maha, A Luxury Collection, Desert Resort & Spa is excited to launch their 5th edition of the Al Maha 10km Fun Run at the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve on Saturday, November 25th, from 2:30pm onwards; a unique trek across the captivating scenes of the desert, all for a tremendous cause.
Set in a lush palm oasis, deep within Dubai’s magical dune and desert landscape in the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, Al Maha plays a significant role in achieving and maintaining the conservation objectives. The desert resort epitomises the heritage, culture and architecture of the Bedouins, and also offers guests a true sense of desert adventure.
The Al Maha 10km Fun Run is one of the most exciting experiences of Dubai where participants can choose to run, walk or jog in a benevolent race through the majestic dunes. For AED 100 per participant, they will race along an enchanting track, ending at the desert event site where they will enjoy a post-race fruit feast and fresh beverages during the prize giving ceremony. All notable runners will be awarded with one raffle ticket, which will be entered into a grand draw with amazing prizes including day packages as well as an overnight stay at the resort, valued over AED 10,000.
The Al Maha 10km Fun Run is also linked to the ‘Road to Awareness’ initiative, a Marriott/Starwood fundraiser campaign in association with Al Jalila foundation, one of the 28 member entities under Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, which relentlessly works on improving human life. The Road to Awareness campaign began six years ago when senior associates at Starwood took on a cycling challenge in the French Alps, which aided in raising substantial funds for UNICEF. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Al Jalila foundation.
Following through the success of the Dubai Fitness Challenge (a government initiative to urge residents to be active for 30 minutes for 30 days), the Al Maha Fun Run encourages fitness enthusiasts to participate, and follows the Government’s footsteps of promoting fitness and a healthy lifestyle as an optimum way of life.
“We are so delighted that the Government of Dubai has taken fitness to a national level with the Dubai Fitness Challenge. Now in our fifth year with the Al Maha Fun Run, we have every intention to take this further year after year, doing our bit for the wellbeing of our society. We invite all fitness addicts and nature lovers to join us for a wonderful day out in nature,” says Patrick Antaki – Complex General Manager, Le Meridien Al Aqah, Fujairah and Al Maha, A Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa.
