December 2017 – Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Bringing to the Dubai Modest Fashion Week runway the perfect union between modesty, style and flair was Murcyleen Peerzada and her self-titled brand. Inspired by fairytales and her love for Bollywood, Murcyleen’s designs graced the catwalk showcasing soft hues of princess ballgowns, lace and sparkle. Bollywood actress and model, Gauhar Khan, donned Murcyleen’s star piece – a long-sleeved silver, sparkly, fringed evening gown with lace accents.
The ex-costume designer, who worked with Bollywood powerhouse Yash Raj Films, wants her pieces to evoke conversation and contribute to the modesty movement. “My fashion journey stems from the love I have for designing for the modern woman and my religion. Creating modest-wear for women hailing from any background, any religion, any culture is what Murcyleen Peerzada is all about.” Apart from evening wear, Murcyleen also tapped into the Indian market that are still developing a love for abayas which were inspired by her trips to Dubai over the past years.
