Cuban Concept from Food Truck Co. secures its spot in the hearts of Dubai Marina residents
Dubai, UAE, 14 February 2017: El Cubano, the Cuban street food concept inspired by the evocative movie ‘Chef’, is serving up authentic flavours of Latino culture to Dubai Marina with its new residency and delivery service at Marina Promenade. The unique concept, the brainchild of disruptive new food truck group Food Truck Co., fuses the diverse influences of Cuban cuisine with the vibrant cosmopolitan setting of Dubai’s waterfront community, with many of the Marina’s major attractions including Dubai Marina Mall and JBR Walk all within walking distance.
El Cubano represents the beautiful food and rich culture of a globalized Cuba, using distinctive seasoning, spices and sauces, resulting in a full collection of delicious street eats that will satisfy the hardest to please taste buds. The menu includes favourites such as the world famous Cubano sandwiches, empanadas, and even Latino-style sliders. Fans of the cuisine will head straight for the signature El Cubano Cuban sandwich, flaunting eight hour slow cooked smoked brisket, smoked turkey, Swiss cheese, pickles and homemade mustard, which is smothered in butter before being finished in the sandwich press for the perfect melt and crispiness. On the lighter side, check out Empanadas De Carne and Empanadas De Guayaba y Queso; stuffed turnovers with smoked beef brisket or sweet red guava and halloumi cheese. Two is company with Las Gamelas, which translates to The Twins, featuring two sliders; perfectly smoked and pulled beef brisket with homemade guacamole, jalapeno, halloumi and crispy onion in the one hand, and a smoked Black Angus patty with lettuce, crispy potato and fried egg in the other. Both pack a knockout punch with the addition of the truck’s secret Cuban sauce for some serious Cuban mastery.
El Cubano plays perfectly into the current trend for innovative food truck experiences; a market segment that has grown dramatically over recent years with research revealing expected revenue increase in the US to $2.7 billion by 2017. The industry is set for further impressive expansion this year in the UAE, with Meraas leading the way with plans to open nine more of its Last Exit concepts in the next six months².
Food Truck Co. Co-Founder, Amjad Barakat notes, “Food Trucks are growing massively in popularity, and we’ve worked extensively to understand the market and track its current appetite for ethnic foods. Cuban food is a rich mix of cultures, flavours and colours, and we have two Latin American chefs within the leadership of our culinary team who passionately want to share it with UAE. We believe it has huge potential as a street food that goes far beyond its native roots. El Cubano looks set to be the foodie and family truck of choice for the cosmopolitan mix of Marina residents and professionals.”
The launch of El Cubano is guaranteed to send Marina residents flocking to the promenade as the place to head for outstanding Cuban food with a laid back and spicy attitude. Additionally, the company is delighted to announce its new partnership with the pioneering Deliveroo, making El Cubano’s outstanding food accessible to all residents and offices in the area!
