Embark on a gastronomic adventure through the culinary delights of Italy on the charming Souk Madinat Jumeirah waterside at Trattoria Toscana
Whether it’s Panzanella from Tuscany, Focaccia from Liguria, or Caponata from Sicily, no-one does food quite like the Italians. Luckily, rustic Italian restaurant Trattoria Toscana is preparing to tickle your taste-buds this season with its brand-new Autumn menu.
Comprising traditional Italian dishes that boast an array of influences from across the country, Artisanal Head Chef Antonio Iacovelli has put a modern twist on traditional recipes such as starters of freshly-imported Italian Burrata served with mini heirloom tomatoes and a dust of olive powder, and a Carpaccio of Carne Saladamade with cured beef meat, artichokes, pickled endives and a sweet pungent Venetian sauce.
For mains, try the Petto Pollo tender chicken breast and thigh which comes atop a rich porcini mushroom sauce, beef pancetta and chicken jus, while the Cappelletti homemade pasta comes stuffed with braised veal breast and buffalo ricotta, served with a walnut sauce, garlic, balsamic vinegar and Parmigiano Reggiano. Trattoria Tascona has new and improved gourmet pizzas and pastas are perfect for the encroaching winter and are created with fresh and seasonal products to ensure they are worth every ‘penne’. Save room for dessert and show your sweet tooth some love by indulging in Profiteroles stuffed with caramelised banana and whipped caramel cream that come covered in toffee sauce; or grab the one-of-a-kind Olio Olive Cake – a soft cake served with buffalo ricotta mousse, extra virgin olive oil and toasted pistachio.
“Trattoria Toscana is all about Italian comfort food served simple, elegant in appearance and extraordinary taste. The appetisers are full of flavour, our main courses are light and generous and our desserts are more decadent than ever before. Every bite is nostalgic and will transport you to Italy,” said Chef Antonio.
When asked about the inspiration behind the menu, Chef Antonio added: “Although I stay true to the concept of the restaurant by emphasising on Toscana dishes and the Tuscan style of food preparation, seasonal products definitely influence the spontaneity of preparing the menu.”
