In this age of digital world where everything is just a click or tap away, mobile phones have gained huge popularity. The increased use of mobile phones gave steep rise to use of mobile applications. In this digital sway, UAE isn’t behind any other country. The digitally sound residents of UAE are trying to maximize the use of mobile phones in general and mobile applications in particular in almost every sphere of their lives.
In a recent research survey it was noted that mobile apps are gaining popularity as the handiest way to deal with DEWA, RTA and the police. The poll, carried out by YouGov, revealed UAE residents gave government mobile-based services a satisfaction index score of 77.3, with government web-based services ranking 67.1.
Almost half of those polled had heard of the RTA app, with 48 per cent of those polled saying they were aware of it, closely followed by DEWA at 46 per cent and Dubai Police at 41 per cent.
The RTA Dubai mobile app also had the highest use rate of all government-owned mobile apps in the country, at 23 per cent.
It was followed by the mobile apps of DEWA, Dubai Metro and mPay, which are used by 15 per cent of UAE residents.
