If you want to explore Astronomy but haven’t got the opportunity yet then you are one of the luckiest person to have one and that in your city of Dubai. Dubai Astronomy Group is meeting at the desert resort to witness the rare phenomenon, in which a number of meteors are seen to radiate from one point in the night sky. You could catch a once-in-a-lifetime meteor shower in Dubai.
The shower is named the Camelopardalis, the Latin name for a giraffe – it originates in the Giraffe Constellation.
A state news agency WAM reported that based on professional forecasts, this new meteor shower could be an astronomical experience of a life-time and produce a unique meteor storm which would see dense outbursts of bright multiple meteors and provide in excess of 1,000 shooting stars an hour during a peak shower, the lowest expectation would be 60 to 100 meteors an hour throughout the night.
Visitors will be able to observe any night-time action through Dubai Astronomy Group’s telescopes, through which they may also spot Saturn, Mars and other fascinating objects, the statement added.
That will be fun filled night as the event will feature live broadcasts, including links between Dubai and California, plus presentations and videos about the night sky.
