Dubai, UAE – 24 January 2017 – Royal Caribbean is fun for everyone thanks to its award-winning Adventure Ocean® Youth Program, meaning parents will never have to worry about their little ones being bored on holiday. Children aged three to 17 on board Royal Caribbean’s ships can join the complimentary program which is specially designed to blend educational activities with fun, broadening each child’s horizons as they make friends with fellow young travellers.
While the kids are having a blast, parents can finally relax and enjoy some personal time, knowing that each member of the Kid’s Club staff has obtained relevant college degrees and experience in education and appropriate fields. And just as good as the activities keeping everyone busy are the memories that the staff help each child create, which will last a lifetime.
Once the ship has set sail, the kids are introduced to the Adventure Ocean team through their nicknames, such as “Tinker Bell” and “Dino”, who will lead a blend of hands-on science experiments, wacky entertainment and story hours to spark the imagination. The young vacationers’ creativity will be encouraged through craft-making such as cultural masks and pottery, which also offers the opportunity to learn about the art, history and culture of their holiday destinations.
The programs are split into age groups with age-appropriate activities such as finger painting, building blocks, disco dancing, video games, karaoke and much more. Children three to five years old will have fun conducting cool experiments and becoming Certified Jr. Adventure Scientists in the Aquanauts program. Those aged six to eight can join the Explorersprogram, which is packed with exciting activities from themed parties to making gummy candies. Meanwhile, in Voyagers for kids aged nine to 11, children will explore through scavenger hunts and put on talent shows, while Navigators includes challenge series and sport tournaments for those aged between 12 and 14.
Parents are also invited to enjoy the Kid’s Club along with their children in the Adventure Family program, where side by side, they’ll learn creative techniques for adding skill-building to playtime. In the Aqua Babies and Aqua Tots programs, developed by Fisher-Price, parents with children aged six months to three years will take part in activity sessions that have a variety of themes to encourage little ones to explore and make new discoveries.
With Royal Caribbean’s Toy Lending program, travellers can even save on luggage space and leave the kids’ toys behind – it’s as easy as the staff checking out a big bag of complimentary toys which your toddler can keep and play with in-room! While exploring the ship, young cruisers can share unforgettable moments with their favourite DreamWorks characters – see faces light up as characters such as Shrek and Fiona appear – and enjoy fun activities with them such as story time, dance parties, parades, ice shows and aqua shows.
In addition to the planned and supervised activities for kids on board, the ships vaunt other thrilling offerings such as the challenging-for-all-ages rock-climbing wall and a vibrant outdoor pool which is open to children. Water slides are a hit with kids – especially The Ultimate Abyss, the world’s tallest slide, found on Harmony of the Seas – or the largest indoor active space at sea, SeaPlex, which is open to kids of all ages and features first-at-sea experiences such as bumper cars, roller skating, a circus school with trapeze, and even a food truck.
Royal Caribbean’s Kid’s Club isn’t simply a babysitting or day-care service; it’s a treasure trove of activities planned for the kids each day, to create the best, most unforgettable cruise experience for both parents and children.
