Taking place on Friday 23rd November, Thailand’s very own ‘festival of lights’ Loy Krathong will illuminate the South East Asian country. This national event usually held in the second half of November during full moon, is most famous for its launching of a krathong – a floating lantern carrying candles, flowers and, most crucially, a prayer or wish. For lucky travelers, the sight of rivers and lakes glowing with thousands of tiny lights is a magical sight and once-in-a-lifetime experience. For those spending November in the GCC, Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas is celebrating Loy Krathong in style, with a wide range of activities including a one-off Thai dish fit for a party, floating krathongs and authentic dance performances designed to transport guests to Thailand.
