You will be glad, in fact very glad to know that the much awaited Dubai Tram is set for an early start, it will begin its operations in November 2014 – it will run for 20 hours every day, starting 5am and ending at 1am.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) revealed that from Saturday to Thursday trams will run every eight minutes between 5am and 7am. From 7am to 10am, the frequency will improve by 30 seconds. From 10am to 8pm, trams will run every 6 minutes, stopping at each station for an average of 30 seconds. From 8pm to 1am, the frequency will reduce to 8 minutes.
There will be 11 trams operating in phase one of the project that will cover the area from Al Sufouh to Dubai Marina. Moving at an average speed of 21.44km/h and a maximum speed of 50km/h, the trams will make a round trip in 39 minutes.
