Major malls and shopping centres across Abu Dhabi will extend their opening hours until after midnight to mark the last fortnight of Summer Fest Abu Dhabi – the emirate’s seasonal destination festival –and Eid Al Fitr celebrations.
Driven by Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi), the festival organiser, the consumer-friendly initiative – which includes malls scheduling extra security staff to oversee the extended opening hours – has been approved by Abu Dhabi Police, under the auspices of the Ministry of Interior.
“Malls and shopping centres remain popular destinations for shopping and socialising during the summer months and this initiative fits perfectly with our wider destination message that there is now much more to see and do in Abu Dhabi than ever before,” said Sultan Al Muhairi, Manager, SummerFest Abu Dhabi.
Shoppers across Abu Dhabi city, Al Ain and the Western Region will benefit from Marina Mall, Abu Dhabi Mall, Mushrif Mall, Delma Mall, Bawadi Mall, Bawabat Al Sharq, Khalidiyah Mall, Al Ain Mall and Mazyad Mall extending daily opening times to between 1.00am and 2.00am.
