Fitness First Middle East is launching its ‘Step Around the World’ initiative, as an act of dedication to the frontline workers who are serving the community and to show when communities come together, great things can be achieved.
Starting from 1st May until 31st May, the ‘Step Around the World’ challenge encourages people of all ages and fitness levels, to collectively walk the circumference of the world – a total of 50 million steps, within the comfort of their own home. Once 50 million steps are completed, Fitness First will match the number of participants who took part in the challenge and offer the same number of free, 2-week memberships to frontline workers, to show appreciation for protecting the local community.
Open to Fitness First members and the whole community at large, participants are required to update their daily step count via a link provided to the registered email. Any step can be counted no matter the distance and can be tracked on a variety of fitness tracking devices, such as FitBits, Smart phones, a Garmin Watch or Apple Health. For those without a tracking device, simply keep track of steps during the day, like walking to the kitchen to grab lunch, a grocery run or event steps during workout sessions. Daily step counts can be added to the Fitness First link every day, until a grand total of 50 million steps has been completed.
All participants can track the progress of the ‘Step Around The World’ collective initiative by checking out Fitness First’s Instagram and Facebook. Stories and posts will be uploaded daily to keep participants motivated and informed about the total number of collective steps achieved.
Participants who take part in the ‘Step Around the World’ initiative will be in with a chance to win a 6-month Fitness First membership, as a token of appreciation and congratulations on completing the ‘Step Around the World’ challenge.
