August 5, 2018 by UAE Style Magazine Leave a Comment

A uniquely integrated wellness destination resort in India, bringing together traditional therapies, nutrition, fitness and a global, holistic approach that supports deep and lasting restoration and change

Built on a natural crystal bed that emits positive energies in the Sahyadri hills of Pune, India, and set in 42 acres of lush green valley overlooking the picturesque Mulshi Lake, Atmantan is a wellness retreat with a truly holistic approach, addressing the three pillars of Atma (Soul) Mana (Mind) and Tann (Body) to achieve lasting results for guests, whether their focus is detox, fitness or a pampering spa escape.

Brought together by two health and fitness visionaries who have brought their complementary backgrounds in pranic healing and fitness, the experienced team employs a highly personalised approach to each guest and their needs, applying their certified expertise across a myriad of fields and global disciplines, including naturopathy, Ayurveda, oriental & western treatments, nutrition, yoga, physical therapy and fitness.

Atmantan’s carefully-curated evidence-based retreats and packages are backed by extensive research and tailored to each guest’s requirements, supported by comprehensive facilities across spa, fitness, accommodation, dining and the surrounding nature. The retreat holds a commitment to true nourishment with nutritional gourmet spa cuisine that fuses international culinary styles and knowledge, using ingredients – including those from its own farm – to heal and enrich.

Depending on guests’ needs and aims, Atmantan’s varied programmes respectively combat negative effects of busy lifestyle, offer penetrative healing, challenge with strength conditioning and physical endurance and it is the only wellness resort in India to have a dedicated physiotherapy retreat programme.

Spa Cuisine

Centred on the philosophy that wholesome, organic, seasonal, local and nutritionally-dense ingredients are the basic building blocks of healthy cuisine and happy mind and body; Atmantan lovingly prepares these ingredients into supremely tasty, nourishing dishes by using light touch cooking techniques to enhance each element’s natural flavours.

Sourced from their very own organic farm, each day the Atmantan chefs take delivery of a box of fresh ingredients and decide what will be on the menus. They also use the seasonal fruits and edible flowers from around the property – such as sweet mangos, mini pineapples and chillies – resulting in creative cuisine that changes daily and is prepared beautifully – a true feast for the eyes and soul as well as for the body.

Atmantan’s three dining spaces are:

  • Vistara – meaning ‘spectacular view’, this is the main restaurant, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with indoor and outdoor seating
  • Te-Jus – meaning ‘inner energy’ in Sanskrit, this bistro serves epicurean healthy delights using farm-fresh produce, soothing teas and revitalising juices. Open in the afternoons and evenings, it offers 360 degree terraced views of the lake, valley and mountains
  • Chantara – meaning ‘the sparkling night sky’ from the Sanskrit Chaand (moon) and Taara (star), this alfresco barbecue lounge serves inspiring grilled dishes and an interactive experience

Believing food is one of life’s great pleasures, the Atmantan culinary team enjoy passing on their knowledge and top tips to guests with regular cooking classes that demonstrate how food can both sustain the body and delight the taste buds.
