The daily workout routine will never be the same again thanks to a host of pioneering exercise and club concepts launched by Fitness First Middle East.
The brand is introducing an impressive array of technologically driven programmes and facilities at its new club in Nakheel Mall, Palm Jumeirah, offering a glimpse into the future of Fitness First clubs in the region.
Among new concepts sure to reenergise the fitness schedule of the community is a dynamic boxing class that provides a sensory knockout; a cubed and wall-less workout studio likened to a silent disco for fitness; and an immersive indoor cycling experience that draws on data visualisation technology and online gaming.
The innovations are among the ground-breaking features at the Titanium Club at Nakheel Mall. Members will experience everything from yoga and cardio workouts in a hot studio to a full complement of the world’s favourite group exercise classes, all under the watchful eye of internationally accredited fitness professionals.
George Flooks, Chief Executive Officer of Fitness First Middle East said: “With this incredible new club at Nakheel Mall, we are tearing up the rulebook and taking the Fitness First brand in a radical new direction. We have explored every opportunity to introduce the latest innovation and technology into our facilities, studios and classes, all with one objective in mind – to redefine what it means to workout.”
The 1,652 square metre club is centred around five brand new Fitness First concepts: KUBE, BOX, SPIN, Hot Studio and GX Studio, along with a ladies’ only facility while members can also benefit from new technology including 3D body scanners. Offering internationally accredited personal trainers, the new Titanium Fitness First club at Nakheel Mall helps members achieve better results faster.
A boutique HIIT studio without walls, KUBE uses lighting techniques to create a bright white cube that sets the stage for a workout like no other. KUBE consists of four stations featuring a range of specialist equipment including the VersaClimber cardio machine, the Fitbench multipurpose workout bench, and the Octane AirdyneX fitness exercise bike. And in a first for any Fitness First programme, users will be able to actively recover in preparation for the next station using the Theragun handheld massage gun. The wireless audio system allows users to push to the beat of their own playlist with a direct link to the coach, while the rest of the gym floor remains un-impacted by the class.
Rocky meets Tron in a multi-sensory boxing studio that packs a knockout punch. Featuring pulsing sounds, sensory illumination, and the latest water-filled aqua bags that reduces strain on wrists, BOX is a 45-minute boxing workout that uses a simple ‘box by numbers’ method to help users of any ability deliver heart-pumping combos.
Not even the pro peloton can match Fitness First’s state-of-the-art spin studio for the latest cycling tech. SPIN features the unique MyJourney indoor cycling programme that gives users a truly immersive riding experience. Connectivity is achieved through the ICG® Connect platform. The digital software delivers data-visualisation to engage riders by tracking group performance, providing team battles and rewarding group leaders, while also celebrating personal achievement. Individual bike computers are connected with the instructor’s tablet and beamed onto a large display that mirrors performance metrics. Following instructions is simple thanks to a flawless user interface and eye-catching animations.
Delivering all the benefits of traditional classes but in a hot environment, Hot Studio helps to reduce warm-up time and delivers workouts with extra intensity. The studio is powered by an ingenious infrared heating system that warms the body directly rather than heating the air. The result – a feeling like the natural warmth of sunlight rather than the stuffy hot air found in conventionally heated studios. A range of ‘hot’ classes including Hot Power Vinyasa, Yoga with weights and restorative yoga strengthen the cardiovascular system by increasing heart rate while eliminating toxins.
Offering a wide range of innovative and exciting classes including Fitness First exclusive TUFF, Swing Yoga, Piloxing, Zumba and the popular variety of Les Mills programmes, the GX Studio allows users to redefine their workout. The studio has been designed with a unique lighting experience that creates an atmosphere designed to inspire and energise. With more than 100 classes to choose from every week, members can sweat it out before work, during lunch or over the weekend.
3D Scanner by Fitness First
In another example of Fitness First’s tech-driven approach, members can obtain pinpoint analysis of their body shape, posture and composition. 3D body scanner measures fat/muscle mass, overall body circumference and provides a three dimensional digital full color avatar. Users simply stand on a revolving turntable and let the scanner do its work. After three rotations the process is complete and a detailed analysis is sent to mobile devices.
As well as innovation, Fitness First continues to deliver its renowned first-class facilities, including a fully equipped gym floor with 4 zones including cardio, freestyle, free weights and strength. Not to mention luxurious changing facilities, steam room and a members’ lounge for guests to unwind and refuel on nutritious food and refreshments.
Women can also take advantage of the club’s private ladies-only gym that offers a supportive, intimate and comfortable environment to workout. Designed to provide female customers with a warm welcoming, ladies can take advantage of the club’s state-of-the-art innovative equipment.
Fully staffed by women, members will have access to internationally trained and qualified Fitness First coaches who will be on hand to design detailed workout plans to suit individual capabilities and fitness goals.
The club will also feature the innovative MYZONE to help track workout efforts in real time, as well as a ground-breaking vitrual cycling experiences, immersive lighting and a member booking app.
“Our goal is to deliver in three main areas – convenience, flexibility and the member experience,” said George Flooks, Chief Executive Officer of Fitness First Middle East “We are incredibly proud of the level of fitness innovation on offer at this new club and can’t wait for members to feel the life-changing benefits.”
