The Arab fashion industry is growing rapidly and its fashion trends are being appreciated and adopted by many people. A number of small and huge designers have been contributing to the industry since decades. The newest initiative to make the fashion industry further flourish is the launch of a fashion hub for the industry stakeholders.
A non-profit, international fashion organisation, Arab Fashion Council, has been launched in the Arab world with the United Arab Emirates as its hub.
Though the creators have been described as “fashion system pioneers” by the organisation, their names remain unknown.
The party will represent all 22 Arab countries and its main objectives will be to place the Arab world on the international fashion map and support designers from the region through educational initiatives.
Most recently, the council revealed Cavaliere Mario Boselli to be its Honorary President.
Boselli is known for a handful of successes and achievements in the global fashion scene.
He has acted as the President of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion and was part of the Milan International Fair.
The council’s management consists of a Board of Directors, Advisors, Honorary President, Fashion Ambassadors, Board of Deputies, and Associated Members of Fashion.
As part of its ongoing efforts to elevate the fashion scene in the Middle Eastern area, the council will have an “Arab Fashion Week” twice a year. It will feature an array of Arab designers.
The organisation will also conduct regular educational seminars, workshops, courses, competitions and trips that cover topics including retail distribution and international market and buyer relations.
With a sophisticated launch and worthwhile future plans, The Arab Fashion Council can be foreseen as a way to payback the stakeholders of fashion industry as well as an educated induction method of prospective fashion associates. The extent to which the aims turn into actions is yet to be seen!
