So the Red Bull Air Race World Championship kicked off in Abu Dhabi last weekend gathering thousands of people together for one amazing race. The air over Abu Dhabi Corniche was electrified as 14 highly skilled pilots from 11 countries were racing at 370km/h to win this tough and spectacular competition. Each pilot individually had to complete a challenging obstacle course in the best time and with maximum precision making it an exciting and absolutely breathtaking thing to watch.
The Race could be observed from anywhere on the Corniche, however, Hiltonia Beach Club was definitely the place to enjoy the race in style and with the most comfort. The beach was fully prepared to host a few hundred guests offering buffet and a variety of drinks. People were chilling on numerous couches, benches and bean bags. The DJ was keeping it hot in between the rounds. The big screen provided full-on coverage of the event. Sun was shining, and the weather was sweet!
The weekend ended with American pilot Michael Goulian winning the race with full 15 points for the first time in 9 years, outrunning the defending world champion Yoshihide Muroya by 3 points and Kirby Chambliss by 6 points leaving them 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
Yes Abu Dhabi, we did it again! Congratulations to Mr. Goulian and the team. Big thank you to all the organizers and aviation professionals for making it happen and leaving us all craving for more and looking forward to the next year.
