The authorities in Abu Dhabi have selected over 600 Emirati families to shift to the new houses in the capital region. The initiative will help the Emirati families to get the benefit of government approved housing facility. President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan issued the order for the construction of new housing project for the Emirati families in Abu Dhabi.
The housing project was designed under the directives of General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Al Falah Housing Project is being built with the aim of providing stable and comfortable housing for Emirati families. Beneficiaries for the grant are selected based on their level of need for new housing, including family size, the special needs of earning members, whether parents are divorced, and whether breadwinners are deceased.
All customer service counters at the municipal headquarters on Shaikh Zayed Street have been designated to process the distribution of houses. Recipients greeted and congratulated one another, and scrawled messages of gratitude to the President on two message boards placed at the entrance.
“Our kids are very happy with the news and they could not wait till they move to the new housing facility approved by the government,” said Fatima Al Buraiki, a 36-year-old mother-of-six.
The homes are located in a residential project in Al Falah that will feature 4,857 villas upon completion. The villas, which are spread over 12.5 million square metres and five residential districts, are being developed by Aldar Properties in several phases.
The first set of completed houses was presented to 1,000 recipients in August 2012, while another 1,000 beneficiaries received keys to their homes in October 2012. A third set of 1,326 completed villas was handed over to new owners in August last year.
In January 2014, 391 more families were granted houses in Al Falah.
Along with the housing facilities, the authorities have also initiated the project for the construction of mosque, hospital and recreational center near by the housing project.
