Soul Wellness & Spa at Sheraton Grand Hotel, Dubai will hold its first Mandala workshop on Wednesday 28thof February from 7.30 to 8.30pm.
Priced at AED150 per person, the event will be led by Abigail de Jong, a visual artist who utilizes art as a healing practice by incorporating music, movement, guided meditation, visual art, therapeutic writing and sharing. She teaches this regularly as part of the Intuitive Painting and the Touch Drawing process.
A mandala is a symbolic object from the Sanskrit language meaning circle. While it can have many meanings, the mandala is thought to stand for wholeness. Research has shown that coloring or creating mandalas can be meditative and reduce stress. In this workshop, the facilitator will lead a guided meditation experience and encourage participants to self-reflect through creativity. Upon finishing, participants will be asked to spend some time reflecting on their creations. Journal prompts will be provided to help participants explore associations or themes related to their mandalas. Opportunities to share and explore their insights with others will also be incorporated into this activity.
Tea and healthy snacks will be served following the session, while booking is required in advance as space is limited and will be served on the first come, first serve basis.
