TAT showcases golf product and services which aim to attract more golf enthusiasts to travel to Thailand
(Dubai, 18 January 2017) The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Dubai and Middle East Office has named Thongchai Jaidee as the new Thailand Golf ambassador for the Middle East in glittering event titled ‘Amazing Thailand Golf Paradise” held last night, 17th January 2017, at a high spirited event held at Sofitel Corniche Abu Dhabi. Top Executives from TAT led by the Deputy Governor for Marketing & Commuications Mr. Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, Members of the Royal Thai Embassy to the UAE, Thai business community and leaders, Local UAE representatives from business community, travel industry professionals and members of the press were all present at the party.
As part of the launch of the new campaign, TAT has appointed Mr. Thongchai Jaidee, One of Thailand’s premier golfer and one of Asia’s most awarded golf champion as the latest Middle East brand ambassador to promote the Amazing Thailand Golf Paradise campaign aimed to generate awareness in the Middle East about Thailand as a leading destination for golf enthusiasts.
Mr. Chalermsak Suranant, Director, TAT Dubai and Middle East Office said, “We are promoting the Amazing Thailand Golf Paradise project via the ‘Thainess through Celebs’ campaign not only to push Thailand forward internationally as Asia’s golf paradise, but also as a quality golfing destination for everyone. Thongchai Jaidee is the perfect ambassador his exemplary achievement in the golfing industry with recognitions not only in Thailand but the whole of Asia and Europe region respectively. We are confident that his appointment as the new face of our campaign to promote golf tourism in Thailand will attract more tourist from the Middle East to play golf in Thailand.”
Mr. Suranant added: “Golf tourism has long been seen as a niche market. Moreover, Thailand can boast some of the best courses in the world, many designed by well-known golfing names with great value for money and state-of-the-art facilities, attractions underlined by excellent services from professional caddies. Golfers also get the chance to enjoy the kingdom’s infinite variety of tourism services, festivals, food, and fun, which are offered by the golf destinations, not to mention our renowned Thai hospitality. For ladies, they can partake in several leisure activities after a round of play, such as spa treatments, facials, Thai cooking classes, or shopping in local markets and luxury malls.”
In 2017, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) plans to focus on enhancing visitor expenditure rather than growing visitor numbers by providing value-added products and services, and motivating visitors to stay longer and spend more while ensuring a balance between tourism growth and its social and environmental impact.
Also, TAT will soon launch another mobile app targeted to travelers from the Middle East and North Africa region. The free-to-download Amazing Thailand MENA App will include exclusive offers from travel, shopping, food and wellness.
