Students of all ages can virtually explore the tropics of Dubai’s bio dome and help contribute to a greener world!
Dubai, United Arab Emirates, March 2020: Transport to the depths of the rainforest from the comfort of your own home with a range of informative virtual field trips from The Green Planet. Meet the educators, discover the beloved animals, explore, and experience once-in-a-lifetime behind the scenes footage.
Running daily, every hour from 10am-5pm, schools can book a private virtual field trip for their class and enjoy 45-minute sessions of exploring the famous bio dome with their very own Green Planet Biologist. Ideal for animal enthusiasts, The Green Planet’s brand-new virtual field trips will allow children to discover the wonders of the rainforest.
Priced at AED 45 per student, each session can hold up to 500 participants and offers a range of specially designed programmes, catering to different age groups, including 3-6, 7-11 and 12-14. Budding biologists can embark on the ‘Go Eco’programme which addresses topics such as the pollution of rainforests, nature resources, awareness of tropical climates and the importance they play in the eco-system. The ‘Tasty Tropics’programme explores the wonderful creatures that roam the rainforest, along with insight into their behaviors, habits and diet. Older students also will have the chance to explore topics such as agriculture topics and beyond.
Already proving to be a hit with students of Dubai, The Green Planet’s virtual field trips are an adaptation of its educational programmes which have the participation of regional schools every year. The virtual field trips create opportunity for students across the world to experience The Green Planet and its unique stance within Dubai.
Sara Stevens, Head of Operations and Curator at The Green Planet added: “We didn’t want to just take our educational programmes online. We wanted to take advantage of what virtual can offer, such as seeing behind the scenes at The Green Planet and witnessing first-hand what goes into taking expert care of over 3,000 exotic plants and animals every day!”
Students can also take part in a 15-minute live Q&A sessions at the end of each tour, with The Green Planet’s educators and leading biologists.
