Best known for his top 10 UK hit single ‘Shut up’ which rapidly rose up the charts at the end of 2015 having been initially released as a freestyle on YouTube, Stormzy has been cited as redefining the British music scene. His debut album Gangs Signs & Prayer, launched earlier this year, was the first grime album to reach number one on the UK Album Chart which debuted on BBC radio channels to much acclaim. No stranger to the festival scene having played a successful set at this year’s Glastonbury Festival, 2017 saw the rapper collaborate with the Californian Nu metal band, Linkin Park on ‘Good Goodbye’ elevating the track to be one of the strongest on the entire album. Such is his energy, Stormzy commands collaborations with industry heavyweights including Ghetts, Chip and Wretch 32 and has performed on numerous occasions with the multi-award winning British singer-songwriter, Ed Shereen for their remix of the chart-topping hit ‘Shape of You’. He was also among the 50 stars featured on Simon Cowell’s recent Grenfell Tower charity single in tribute to the victims of the fire disaster.
