It is said that every time is right time for shopping, however it becomes special when the discounts and the special offers are available. UAE is called as the heaven for the shoppers and it won’t be justified if it does not have frequent discounts.Dubai Festive City Mall might have surprise for you.
If I was going to shop for groceries, I might as well get DSF discounts and raffle vouchers for it.
So, I started my weekend by doing my grocery run at HyperPanda, Dubai Festival City Mall (DFCM) yesterday.
I believe this is the first time a hypermarket has ever participated in DSF. There are two participating this year: HyperPanda and Geant at Ibn Battuta Mall.
HyperPanda is really doling out free cash vouchers on top of discounted items at their electronics and home appliances section.
I saw a 50-inch Panasonic LED TV on sale for Dh1,999 (was Dh2,999) with a Dh350 voucher. There was a also a crate full of JVC car audio console (just radio and USB music input though) plus speakers for Dh239. For PSP lovers, their console (without Wifi) comes with two games plus Dh100 voucher for Dh399.
At the homeware section, a 19-piece Luminarc dinner set is on sale for Dh99.95 (was Dh249), while the 13-piece white set costs Dh71 (was Dh139). I have to say I love these plates. They’re extra resistant. I sometimes marvel that mine are still intact after more than five years, despite my sometimes horrific dishwashing skills.
Over at the beauty section, Dove bar soaps are on sale for Dh12.50 for four pieces. In some places, one piece costs Dh5.50, and since I can’t take a proper shower without using Dove soap, this was a bargain I just had to grab. For Palmolive fans, two 400ml bottles are on sale for Dh14.95.
In the food section, I got curious about their Blue Peacock jasmine rice for Dh16.95 (5kg). I haven’t tried it, but it is almost half the price of the brand I normally cook at home, so it’s very a tempting offer and discounts.
Before heading to the counter, I passed by the poultry section and took home one pack (900g) of mixed chicken cuts on sale for Dh7.95 (was Dh13.75), wonderful thoughts of chicken adobo playing in my head.
The discounts on the various section has been really inspiring and it can make anyone shopoholic. The discount is expected to drop further as the Ramadan approaches end.
