Line-up includes Simian Mobile Disco, George Fitzgerald, Barnt and seven local DJs live at the music and art festival this 23rd February at Emirates Golf Club
Mark your calendars for Friday, 23rd February 2018, as the region’s biggest electronic music and art festival Groove On The Grass, has confirmed Grammy-nominated musician and producer, Bonobo as the headline artist. Bonobo and his eight-piece band will be debuting in Dubai in the first edition of this year’s Groove On The Grass.
British duo Simian Mobile Disco, DJ and Producer George Fitzgerald and Electronic Producer Barnt also joins the impressive line-up along with seven Dubai-based artists at the open-air music & art event.
Now in its sixth year, Groove On The Grass is the leading home-grown cultural-music festival in Dubai and hosts a mix of international and local talents throughout the year. The one-day outdoor event is also known for its fun, interactive mix of cultural activities, artistic installments and pop up stalls. It has been highlighted by Dubai Calendar & Emirates airline as the pulse of the creative music & arts community in the UAE.

British musician, producer and DJ, Simon Green, better known by his stage name Bonobo has been creating music for more than seventeen years. His debut album Animal Magic, which was released in 2000, was a huge success and instantly help him to build a huge legion of followers across the world. Bonobo’s sixth and the most recent tracks Kerala and Migration topped on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart this January and has won him international fame. Both the album Migration and the track Bambro Koyo Ganda has been nominated at the 2018 Grammy Awards for Best Dance / Electronic Album and Best Dance Recording respectively.
Simian Mobile Disco is an English electronic music duo who have gone to extremes to make incredible music. James Ford and Jas Shaw have been recording and performing as Simian Mobile Disco for over ten years. They have released a number of hit singles including I Believe, Hustler, Sleep Deprivation and It’s the Beat to name a few.
British DJ and Producer George FitzGerald witnessed the birth of the dubstep scene during the mid-2000s and began releasing his own music when he moved to berlin in 2010. FitzGerald pursued music as a full-time career, releasing moody, melancholic R&B-influenced club tracks including The Let Down, Don’t you and Fernweh. His most popular track has been Fading Love featuring guest vocals by Boxed In and Lawrence Hart.
Barnt is known for popular underground tracks including Geffen and Render ft. Cologne Tape, which were among his first releases. His solo track What Is A Number, That A Man May Know It became an instant hit in 2010, making the records precious collector’s item ever since. Other hits include Chappell, If She Says She Is a Healer, She Is A Healer and Is This What We Were Born For?
