One of the Country’s largest retailers, Marca, listed on the Dubai Financial Market mentioned that it will expand its presence in Dubai and will open four fashion outlets within next few years.
The company will open Sonia by Sonia Rykiel, Berenice, Essentiel Antwerp, as well as a fourth, affordable luxury brand, in the later part of next year at Dubai’s City Walk. Before then, unnamed outlets are slated for early next year at The Beach in Dubai Marina, Galleria Mall on Al Wasl Road in Dubai and Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi.Marka holds exclusive franchise rights for the UAE and other GCC countries – with some minor exceptions – for brands including Cristiano Ronaldo’s CR7 Footwear line and Laurel.
The plan of Marca is to offer these high-value products through top-end malls in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and then expand in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar, aiming to become the “leading retail operator in the GCC”, the company said last month.
“We are more interested in residential population as they constitutes main driving force for increasing volumes as premium retail space is expensive.” said Mr Peel.
The retailer Marca is working towards several other initiatives along with fashion sector. Soon the company will dabble in sports retail sector. The company is searching for suitable locations to open its new outlets in the city to increase their reach. Marca is also coming up with their latest initiative in hospitality sector.
