Recently a growing trend has attracted the interest of designers and fashion followers. Designers are reinventing the traditional hijab into modern and Fashionable hijabs. The trendy and attractive Fashionable hijabs are getting huge support from liberal as well as orthodox Christian and Muslim women.
One such blogger, Summer Albarcha, has over 23,000 followers on her Instagram account “Hipster Hijabis” which she started in 2012 at the age of 16. Her website says that she is an aspiring fashion designer who creates “modest outfits that appear effortless and elegant.”
Albarcha’s website continues on to say that “Hipsters are the people who try to maintain their traditional values but yet they appear stylish and stand apart in the crowd. Hijabis are Muslim women who choose to wear the headscarf as a sign of modesty. Summer hopes to inspire both people due to her reluctance to today’s revealing and conformed fashion.”
Her popular Instagram account came to the attention of New-York based label Mimu Maxi, which is owned by two Orthodox Jewish women. After Jewish customers of the company objected to her modeling one of their popular skirts, Albarcha said that the experience of working with Mimu Maxi only stressed the universal struggle that women of all faiths face in finding conservative yet fashionable clothing.
“It came out that our ideas of wanting modest fashion and in promoting it is something really similar and something we have in common between our religions,” Albarcha said. “We must work toward the trendy fashionable option and must expand it so that women can also lead fashionable life simultaneously with maintaining their traditional values.”
The latest idea of Fashionable hijabs has drawn attraction and received a lot of appreciations from the conservative women. The trendy hijabs shows the fusion of fashion with faith.
