It’s that time of year again for families to prepare for back to school, which begins in September.
And as parents and children go on the hunt for the best notebooks, pencils, shoes and uniforms, Mall of the Emirates has launched its month-long Back-to-School campaign to make the shopping season entertaining for visitors of all ages. The campaign will run until September 15.
The Central Galleria of the mall has been transformed into a classroom to cater to student mall-goers, who can share their favourite school experiences on video from August 22 to 31. The videos will be posted on Facebook and the one with the most number of shares will be in with a chance of winning a gift card worth Dh10,000.
On weekdays, shoppers can take their photo inside the classroom and post it on Instagram and Twitter. The fan with most likes on Instagram will win a gift card worth Dh3,000 while Twitter followers with most re-tweets will win Dh2,000.
“Making a school connection and getting involved in education is important to Mall of the Emirates,” said Anna Mansour, Associate Director at Majid Al Futtaim Properties. “Our Back-to-School campaign is dedicated not only to parents, who would find the deals very handy, but also to students whom we are trying to engage with our hosted activities. The positive performance that we have witnessed during the holidays is expected to continue for this is another key period for us.”
Meanwhile, the third phase of the ‘Millionaire Campaign’ promotion of the Dubai Shopping Malls Group will run until September 7. Shoppers who spend a minimum of Dh200 at any of the participating malls will get a raffle coupon that could give them a chance to win Dh1 million in cash.
Malls participating in the campaign include Al Bustan Centre, Al Ghurair Centre, Al Mulla Plaza, Arabian Centre, Al Barsha Mall, Bin Sougat Centre, BurJuman, Century Mall, Dubai Marina Mall, Dubai Outlet Mall, Etihad Mall, Ibn Battuta Mall, Lamcy Plaza, Mazaya Shopping Centre, Oasis Centre, Reef Mall and Time Square Centre.
