The marriage ceremony saw 12 young men and women from the tribe marrying, with the head of Al Ain’s municipal council, Sheikh Ahmed Bin Suroor Al Dhaheri, in attendance, as well as a number of other sheikhs, dignitaries, guests and relatives.
The ceremony featured a variety of songs, peoms and shows from the Emirati heritage.
Mohammed Saif Ali Al Meqbali, head of the organising committee of the tribe’s mass wedding, said that the group events are a good initiative to counter the phenomenon of extremely expensive and extravagant weddings
